The development of new knowledge and the process of making
explicit existing tacit knowledge are considered to be the
generation process [11]. This definition suggests that this process
is somewhat similar to the externalization and combination
processes of the SECI model. As such, in addition to the items
presented in the combination process, we consider the following
items, included in the externalization process, as contributing to
generate new knowledge:
• Writing information that is not available anywhere else
• Writing information that have no place in organization’s
formal documents
• Storing decisions and their rationale .
