Known Supplier
Zurich Airport’s Known Supplier Concept
Since April 29, 2012, due new regulatory requirements issued by the Federal Office of Civil Aviation, all goods delivered into the security-sensitive zone of Zurich Airport have to be controlled. Only Known Suppliers are exempt from this regulation (companies that fulfill Zurich Airport’s security requirements).
Known Supplier Security Requirements
Goods delivered by Known Suppliers are exempt from security controls. To qualify for the Known Supplier status, contractors must appoint a security manager in their firm (company security officer) and staff must be trained according to the regulatory security requirements. Furthermore, various regulations regarding the production, packaging, storage and transportation of goods to be delivered to the airport must be adhered to.
Declaration of Commitment for Known Suppliers
By filing the declaration of commitment, the applying company confirms the implementation of the required security measures. In turn, deliveries of the applying company will be exempt from controls (except for random checks).
Please take note of the provided documents and contact the Airport Security Department should you have any further questions.
