BPM assumes the paradigm of managing business activities
through a framework of operational processes. The term
business process may sound loose, but don’t be misled; it is
a precise term.
A business process is the set of all formally coordinated tasks
and activities, conducted by both people and equipment,
which leads to accomplishing a specific organizational objective.
An example of a business process is order fulfillment.
The act of a customer placing an order initiates a process to
record the order, approve their credit, and trigger the production
and delivery.
