The essential oils were obtained by hydrodistillation for 3 husing a modified simultaneous distillation extraction (SDE) appa-ratus according to a previous study (Chaintreau, 2001). First, 45 gof fresh Salvia leaves and flowers were soaked in 300 ml of distilledH2O for 1 h; the resultant mixture was then subjected to hydrodis-tillation for 3 h.
