the stripping peak (i.e. sensitivity) increases with deposition time and amount of AuCNTs on the surface of the electrode for both LSV and SWV with SWV the more sensitive as shown in Fig. 5. Compared with the previous report by Dai et al. on a gold nanoparticle modified GC electrode, SWV has provided a much higher sensitivity, but the LOD was low due to the high level of noise generated in the baseline [33]. However, in the case of the AuCNTs array, SWV provides much higher sensitivity whilst maintaining a sufficiently low LOD because no such problem is observed. Fig. 5 shows a comparison of the electrochemical response of As(III) deposition on the AuCNTs modified electrode using 40L of the 0.2mgmL−1 suspension by LSV (a) and SWV (b) for optimised deposition time of 240 and 120s, respectively.
