The nucleus and oocyte increase in diameter to
59.5 ± 13.4 mm and 370.5 ± 102.2 mm, respectively
(Fig. 2f). Acidophilic yolk granules increase in
number and occupy the cytoplasm completely.
The shape of the oocyte becomes more irregular
and polygonal. The nucleus becomes basophilic
and is warped out of the outline. Follicle cells
become thinner, reaching 2.4 ± 0.7 mm.
