A touch screen and smart glasses made from flexible, transparent display sensors and tempered glass with high thermal insulation effect. These are some of the future products that will be commercialized in the near future.
The Korean government recently selected these as part of its so-called “New Industry Creative Project” for the year.
The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning will invest a total of KRW 17.2 billion in the seven selected projects, which cover six sectors: energy efficiency, flexible devices, life care, advanced materials, nano technology-based manufacturing and bio sensors.
The selected projects include energy-saving tempered glass developed by Eagon Windows & Doors, a flexible, transparent display sensor developed by the Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology and Yonsei University’s blood testing system that can collect blood from the human body in a relatively less-painful way and diagnose it for various diseases.
