This study has attempted to comparatively evaluate a traditional
Persian drug with a conventional treatment. Despite the effectiveness of this medicament in the related studied group, no
significant differences were observed in comparison with the
control group. Because of the different side effects of omeprazole,
and similar or better treating effects of Quince in GERD symptoms,
it is recommended that more widespread studies be carried out
with esophageal manometry and pH monitoring with a larger
sample size in order to assess both the short-term and long-term
outcomes of Quince syrup
