Rumors are flying of yet more departures from SM Entertainment's male pop group EXO.
A recent article from Chinese media outlet Sina reported of Chinese entertainment industry insiders sharing reports on social media website Weibo that Chinese member Tao will be leaving EXO. The rumors further claim that a Korean member will also be leaving EXO. SM Entertainment has not responded to Chinese journalists' requests for a statement.

On December 9, Sina quoted two Weibo posts that allegedly belong to entertainment critics. One of the verified accounts had a post that said Tao will be leaving EXO, and the other critic fueled the rumors by saying, "Next year two members are leaving EXO: one Chinese and one Korean. The group disbandment is not long away."
Two Chinese members of EXO and EXO's subgroup EXO-M, Luhan and Kris (Wu Yifan) filed lawsuits against SM Entertainment in the second half of 2014. At the time of Luhan's departure in October, SM Entertainment claimed that both Kris and Luhan's departure indicated "there is someone behind the scenes who is pulling the strings [regarding the Chinese members departures from EXO]."
Shortly after the rumors began to spread, Tao shared a picture on his Instagram account saying, "EXO-L [EXO's fans] let's go on a date." and calling into question the validity of Sina's report.
The rumors come shortly after EXO-M member Lay made a heartwarming speech at the 2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA), where Lay dedicated awards thawon byt EXO to EXO-L. "We want to dedicate this award to EXO-L, and the year 2014," he said. "It has been a hard and dull year for EXO, but I promise that from today onwards, EXO will be working hard so it won't be dull anymore."
How Likely Is It That The Rumors Are True?
Unfortunately, there were rumors spread by Chinese media that reached international and Korean fans prior to both Kris and Luhan's departures. So until SM Entertainment or the EXO members themselves deny the claims, it is likely that fans will rest uneasily.
