Together with the addition of Ni(OH)2 at varying molar ratios,
the time required to obtain a homogenous mixture of the starting
samples to generate high purity H2 gas during the heating operationwas
also investigated. Fig. 5 showsMSspectra of gases collected
fromthe PVC/CaO/Ni(OH)2 (1:3:1) mixturemilled for different time
periods at a fixed rotational speed of 700 rpm. Overall, peak positions
of the gases generated remain consistent with very clear peaks
of H2 under all conditions, but H2 peak for mixture milled for
120min shifts to over 500 ◦C, and also intensity of all peaks gradually
decrease as milling progresses.
