Thailand Situation in a Nutshell
This is a tiny nutshell, on a big tree, in an orchard of other stories and truths.
In this tiny nutshell: The current Prime Minister, Yingluck Shinawatra, is the little sister of former PM Thaksin Shinawatra.
Brother Thaksin is a convicted criminal living in exile to avoid punishment. The US actually allowed Thaksin to travel to the US, but that is another nutshell.
Sister PM Yingluck was lawfully and democratically elected. She helped push through a bill that will allow amnesty for her criminal brother who was convicted on corruption charges. He is a billionaire.

Thaksin is a fugitive. His sister is trying to waive the law of the land for her brother.
