higher faecal E. coli counts were
found in earlier weaned pigs(3 weeks)compared to later
weaned pigs(4 weeks),but not compared to pigs weaned at
5 weeks of age. These findings are in line with those of
Franklinetal.(2002) who found that pigs weaned at17 days
of age had higher intestinal E. coli counts 10 days postweaning than pigs weaned at 24 days.
