Fig. 11 shows a comparison of flue gas temperatures of all the
tested fuels. Small and even particle size, high CV content, low
moisture content and low fibrous materials produced high temperature
flue gases. However in the case of strawpellets, the factors
like fibrous material nature, the presence of lime as a bonding agent
and having low CV are responsible for the lower temperature
profiles. Similarly, wood chip combustion did not produce high
temperature flue gases, due to its high moisture content and uneven
particle size
