ha Charoen waterfall national park covers areas in Mae Sot and Phop Phra districts of Tak province in north-western Thailand. It is located on highway 1090, bordering Khlong Wang Chao and Lan Sang national parks. The total area of the park is around 855 square kilometers.
General topography is north-south high mountains covered in evergreen forest. The area is the head waters (source of waters) of many streams including Huay Mae-La-Mueng which flows down to Mae Sot district. The highest peak is 1765 meters above sea level, located in the southern area of the park. These hills are part of Thanon Thong Chai range.
The hot season is from March to May, followed by the rainy months from June to October. Cool months are November till February with the lowest possible temperature of about 6º C.
Pha Charoen waterfall also called "97-step Rom Klao" is located close to the headquarters and highway 1090. The 50 meters high waterfall consists of 97 ladder-shape steps or tiers.
Pa Wai waterfall having 100 levels is a limestone fall flowing down from Wai forest. It is located near Tak - Kamphaeng Phet border, 20 km north of highway 1090. At the kilometer marker 40, take a turn-off road to Pa Wai village (17km) and continue further 3 km to the waterfall. The fall is open to visitors in winter and dry season.
At Saifa waterfall visitors can see beautiful rainbow formed by sun rays passing through the curtain of water spray during day time. From this rainbow came the name of the waterfall.
Other interesting points are natural warm water sources, mountain view points, trails passing through hilltribe villages.
