factors that affect ethics
1.stages of moral development. research confirms three levels of moral development.each level has two stages.
1.the first level is called preconventional. at this level, the individual's choice between right or wrong is based on personal consequences involved.
2.at the second stage, whic is labeled conventioncl, moral values reside in maintaining expected standards and living up to the expectations ot others.
the third level the principled level the individual makes a clear effort to define noral principles apart from the authority ot the groups to which the person belongs.
3.researcch on the stages ot moral development indicates that people proceed sequentially through the six stahes of these three levels, with no guarantee of continued developnent at any stage. the majority ot adults are at stage4. the higher te stage an employee reaches, the more likelihood that he or she will behave ethically.
