Binary mixtures of methyl acetate with methanol having a constant
volume of 5 mL were prepared by mass (standard uncertainty
0.0001 g) directly into common 22.2 mL HSGC vials. According to
pre-calculations, the solution volume of 5 mL is sufficiently large
to keep the change of liquid composition due to gas–liquid partitioning
in the vial negligible (d(xi) < 1 104 in the range
0.01 < xi < 0.99). The vials were crimped with Teflon-coated butyl
rubber septa. Standard uncertainty in the composition of liquid
phase was estimated to be u(xi) = 1 104.
