A thermalinsulationmaterialwithgoodmechanicalpropertieswhichcanbeusedinconstructionfor
loading bearingcomponentswasdevelopedandstudied.Theair-driedsmalldiameteroriginalbamboo
without destroyingthebasicstructurewasusedtoreinforcetheextrudedparticleboardwithdifferent
solid density.Theresultsshowthatthesoliddensityoftheparticleboardhadgreateffectonthe
mechanical propertiesofthecomposite.Thehandlingoftheouterskinofthebamboodidnotinfluence
the propertiesalotexcepttheelasticmodulusofthepanelswhenthesoliddensityis0.65g/cm3 and
0.75 g/cm3. ThethermalconductivityofthepanelsisinthesamerangewithexpandedPerliteand
