Anaemia occurring during pregnancy is
an important public health problem in developing countries. In
India, anaemia is one of the most common causes of maternal
death, accounting for 20% of total maternal deaths. This study
was conducted with the aim of evaluating anaemia among
booked antenatal mothers during the last trimester, its possible
impact on pregnancy and its outcome in antenatal mothers,
visiting antenatal clinic in a teaching tertiary care hospital at
Pondicherry, India.
