Parasite and bile
The isolate (ISS534) of T. spiralis used in the study were
obtained from a domestic pig in Nanyang city of Henan Province,
China. The isolate was maintained by serial passages in Kunming
mice in our laboratory. The muscle larvae were released from the
infected mouse muscles by digestion of carcasses with 1% pepsin
(1:3,000) and 1% hydrochloric acid [11]. These mice had been
infected at least 42 days prior to collection.
