All conventional libraries basic functions focus on collection, organization and dissemination of information
resources. Traditionally a “library is a place in which books, manuscripts, musical scores, or other literary and
artistic materials are kept for use but not for sale”. In effect, it is an institution oriented towards collections
and custody, where people may make use of the facilities. Whereas a digital library is an assemblage of digital
computing, storage and communications machinery together with the content and software needed to
reproduce, emulate and extend the services provided by conventional libraries. In other words, a digital library
