In some circumstances, a more formal social dialogue structure could help promote
joint working, by providing a place for all parties to share their views and to agree on some
common goals. The ILO promotes social dialogue processes as a way of dealing with key
issues for the sector 29 and is currently developing a toolkit to aid the process. 30 Learning

extractive industries, through for example the Kimberley Process or the Transparency
