Some studies have found that delay in reporting an assault (e.g. Raitt and Zeedyk, 1997), lack of physical resistance and/or injury (e.g. Temkin and Krahe, 2008), use of intoxicant (e.g. alcohol; Finch and Munro, 2005) and a calm demeanour after the assault or during trial (e.g. Ellison and Munro, 2009a,b) are all factors that may be perceived by jurors as unconvincing of a rape case.
