The poll was conducted on May 12-13 on 1,250 people aged 18 up of various levels of education and occupations throughout the country to gauge their opinion on the proposed referendum of the 2015 constitution draft. It was carried out under a systematic random sampling method with a standard error not exceeding 1.4.
Asked how they would decide if the referendum on the charter draft is held today, most or 42.96% of the respondents said they would vote for it to allow the country to move forward and change for the better; 31.76% said they would vote against it, reasoning that some sections in the draft still need to be amended; 11.36% were undecided; 11.28% would waive the right to vote; and, 2.64% no answer.
Asked their opinion on the proposal for a public referendum on the charter draft, 43.28% said it would give the people the chance to express their opinions; 34.8% said the referendum would make the charter, when passed, more legitimate; 21.20% said the government should make sure that the people have a thorough understanding of the charter draft before holding the referendum; 9.36% said the referendum would protect the charter from being easily changed by the political sector in
