1. Introduction
Lack of good housekeeping in the workplace is considered a risk factor for occupational injuries (Bird and Germain, 1990; Laflamme, 1990). Despite the intuitive basis for a relation between order and injuries, few studies have been carried out to investigate this association and evidence of a causal relationship is limited. There have been few published studies assessing the relation between housekeeping and occupational safety. Additionally, the housekeeping safety studies show methodological weaknesses which limit their usefulness.
