Conclusion
In this review we have highlighted some of the issues both for women who have conceived through the use of ARTs and for the midwives who
provide their maternity care. While ARTs have become more normalised as a means of achieving parenthood, there may be associated risks. There is debate as to the causes of these risks, whether they are attributable to the underlying infertility issues and associated medical disorders, or to the ART procedures themselves.
