We turn now to consideration of the effects of factorsother than the expenditure-to-income ratio on the probability of
having health insurance. Exhibit 6 shows the mean values for a
variety of employment and demographic characteristics, the estimated
marginal effect of each on the probability of insurance coverage,
and the estimated effect of the change in the mean of each from
1979 to 1995 on the percentage of insured workers.
