The sample for this study included 155 licensed foster caregivers who were currently fostering at least one child orhave fostered a child within the past year at the time they completed the survey. Foster parents were recruited throughthe National Foster Parent Association (NFPA) through a link that was advertised on their website and social media page.In addition, informal foster parent groups on social media sites were contacted and asked to share the study link. Other recruitment efforts involved snowball sampling, which happened through word-of-mouth, as participants were asked toshare the study information with other potential participants.
