Growth and Expansion
A common short-term business objective focuses on company growth. This particular growth has nothing to do with financial growth, but more the growth of the company such as locations, size of the office or number of clients. A home-based business has the objective to relocate to a rented office and hire an assistant, for example. Another similar objective is expanding the existing rented office by renting several locations around the state, expanding the local business to statewide.
Employees and Management
Another common first-year business objective is expanding the employees and overall management of the company. While a sole-proprietorship may hire an assistant and a few employees to assist in the production of services or products, a partnership business may hire 20 employees and four managers. This objective encompasses quite a bit, as the business owner must interview, train and delegate responsibilities to potential employees.
