3.4. Photovoltaic performance
Photovoltaic properties of the ssDSSC constructed from the
hydrazone-based sensitizers D1eD5 were measured using spiroMeOTAD as HTM (photovoltaic performance is summarized in
Table 3).Fig. 5shows the IPCE of D1eD5 based solar cells. The IPCE
spectrum covers the whole visible region in the range of
400e700 nm, facilitating the DSSC to efficiently convert solar light
to electricity. Dyes D1eD4 produce maximum external quantum
efficiencies of around 60% while dye D5 reaches only 41% at
480 nm.
Fig. 6shows the current-density (Jsc) vs voltage (VOC) curves of
the five cells under AM 1.5G simulated solar illumination at an
intensity of 100 mW cm
2
. The DSSCs based on hydrazone D-D-p-A
type dyes D1eD5 showedJsc values from 4.22 (D5) to 7.90 (D2)
