Errors can reduce the accuracy and quality of data collected by researchers. Survey research errors can be classified as being either sampling or nonsampling errors.
Sampling Errors
Any survey research design that involves collecting data from a sample will have some error. Sampling error is the difference between the findings based on the sample and the true values for a population. Sampling error is caused by the method of sampling used and the size of the sample. It can be reduced by increasing sample size and using the appropriate sampling method. We learn more about sampling error in Chapter 6
