Hello Paula,
Forwarding complaint information for packer record and evaluation. Can you have the packer respond with procedures that are taken to assure package and seal integrity of the Tetra Pak?
Blue Marble Brands – Harvest Bay received a consumer complaint of finding mold in the container. We have not examined the tetra pak container first hand. The consumer is handing it over to the CT Dept. of Consumer Protection.
Briefly, the consumer purchased the product at a retail store in Norwalk, CT on 2/3 or 2/4, last week. He bought three containers. They looked the same. He did not notice damage. He drank the first container, which was OK. He did not know the date code. He noticed off-taste in the second container, saw brownish color on the straw, cut open the container and found the mold as reported for the listed item and lot code. He then cut open the third container and found clear appearance, but discarded that container. Lot code may have been a couple days different than the second container. Possibly a little different label graphics.
E-mail report as of 2/5/16, from the consumer:
Attached are the pictures of the contamination, I'm assuming it's mold.
I have contacted the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection and they will be collecting the coconut water and getting in touch with your company. Hopefully this prevents anyone else from getting a contaminated box.
