Cargill Turkey & Cooked Meats (CTCM) today announced that it will relocate its meat slicing and packaging operations from its Springfield, Missouri, facility to its plants at Nebraska City, Nebraska, and Waco, Texas. The move will better align CTCM’s supply chain with its customers. As a result, the Springfield facility will close March 11, 2015, which will affect 118 Cargill colleagues at Springfield.
Decisions such as these are never easy to make because of the people who are impacted. This decision was made only after a careful examination of the future needs of our business and customers. Cargill is providing support to people directly impacted by this decision, including a severance package, job fairs and relocation support to those hired at other Cargill facilities.
