However my reasons for that will have to wait for another
occasion. Rather the primary guiding consideration I have taken from Aristotle
and pursued over the years is to look at the purpose of things. That would indicate
my Aristotelian teleological leanings. From that vantage point it is easy to define
corruption as that which occurs when we lose sight of our purposes. What better
focus then, than to inquire what role business ethicists should play by asking what
is their goal or purpose in doing business ethics? Who are we? What is this art of
doing normative business ethics?
