Making it rain is hard, but meteorology scientists came up with a method called cloud seeding a few decades ago. In many dry areas droughts have made it difficult for farmers to receive enough rainfall to grow their crops. Making it rain via cloud seeding involves a complex procedure. To make cloud seeding work, nuclei particles (tiny particles like atoms) are added to the sky. The particles form a nucleus in the cloud, allowing ice crystals to attach, increasing the size of the droplet. The most common cloud seeding method involves spreading silver iodide into clouds.
