Urumqi. There were seven questions on the home environment, asked
separately in the first 2 years of life (one question) and in the last year
(another question). Three questions asked about odors or air quality
perception at home (weekly/sometimes vs. never) including stuffy
odor, moldy odor and sensations of air dryness. Then there were four
questions on indoor factors (pollution sources) in the home environment,
including new furniture/decoration (yes vs. no), visible indoor
mold (weekly/sometimes vs. never), window pane condensation in
winter season (≥5 cmvs. b5 cm) and parental smoking causing indoor
pollution of environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) (yes vs. no). For home
environment in the first 2 years, the questions were asked ‘when
children were born” except the home new furniture/decoration was
asked ‘during the year before pregnancy, during pregnancy and
between 0 and 1 years'. For home environment in the last year, it was
asked in the last year except on the perceptions of odors for the last
3 months.
