The focus of this paper is to identi the basic activities an organization should practice so as to become CMMI level 2 certi ed if they develop SaaS based products. We performed a gap analysis of the processes being practiced in a CMMI certi ed organization with the newly proposed REQM for SaaS based applications. We present a work ow of all these processes that should be practiced and mapped the missing activities as well during our mapping of the case study project. This paper presents a detailed mapping of the ndings and suggestions on a real SaaS based project being run now in an organization which is CMMI level II certi ed.
