Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanowires were synthesized on Si substrates through thermal evaporation of Zn powders.
The morphology of the nanowires was examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and they
were also characterized to be hexagonal wurtzite structure by Raman measurement. The photoluminescence
(PL) spectra were obtained and the waveguide behavior was demonstrated, which based on the
axial Fabry–Pérot resonator mode in the nanowire.
