The possible
anthropogenic sources of arsenic in the surface soils from the farm
lands in the CAFO zone include applications of agrochemicals, fertilization
by animal wastes, and deposition of aerosol particles
from industrial sources and traffic emissions in the surrounding
areas. Due to the relatively large numbers of surface soil samples
collected in the CAFO zone and from the agricultural lands in the
Pearl River Delta, and the number of heavy metals measured for
each sample (Table 1),
