The study was conducted in the Krapina Neanderthal Museum (Croatia). The Krapina
Neanderthal site at the Hušnjakovo locality is the first paleontological natural
monument in Croatia and is one of the most significant pale anthropological localities
worldwide. The site was declared a protected natural rarity in 1948. The Museum of
Evolution was founded in 1969, and the new Krapina Neanderthal Museum was
opened to the public in 2010. The museum aims to educate the public about prehistoric
life, the origin of the human species and to present the related findings and scientific
developments from 19th century. The museum displays the people of Krapina from the
Stone Age, who lived in this area 125,000 years ago. The exhibition is set up as a time
machine which guides visitors through the history of the Universe, the Earth, and Man,
leading up to the present day, and places special emphasis on the Neanderthal period
