5.1. Terpenoid phytoalexins
Most of the terpenoid phytoalexins found in the Poaceae are
diterpenoid phytoalexins. However, sesquiterpenoid phytoalexins
have been reported in some species such as maize. Terpenoid phytoalexins
are thought to act in concert with a plethora of other plant defenses
such as antimicrobial proteins (Huffaker et al., 2011).
