for making porous concrete [8–10] . Various researchers in this field often fail to give attention to this . Man y sort to the simple relationship between strength and flow obtained from flow table test. Various optimum flow values between 180 and 280 mm have thus been report ed based on different conditions of mixing, compact ion and incorporation of admixtures [11–16 ]. Systematicstudy on the property o f fresh paste suitable for making porous concrete is, there- fore, necessary. This can be achieved b y examining the change of rheology due to the influence of method and sequence of mixing and compact ion. The purpose of this study is, therefore, to study the best conditions to produce porous concrete . The first pa rt deals with the properties of the fresh paste and the second pa rt deals with the compact ion and vibration of concrete.
