The strong aggregate stability of paddy soil enhances the SOC conservation and the enrichment of organic carbon in macro-aggregates, resulting in a higher carbon sequestration potential in paddy soil (Pan et al., 2008; Wissing et al., 2013). Sheng et al. (2013) showed a decline tendency of SOC con-tent after paddy conversion to vegetable field. However, there is no available information about the effects of land use changes from paddy to vegetable field on soil aggregates and SOC content as well as their relationships. Therefore, the objectives of the study were to determine changes of soil aggregates and organic car-bon after paddy conversion to vegetable field and to establish the relationship between the changes of soil aggregates and organic carbon.
