Self Worth
“Never let anyone contribute to the equation of your self-worth. No other opinions or thoughts matter. You are amazing exactly as you are, born deserving of all the abundance and blessings life has to offer; with a deep, ancient knowledge flowing in your veins and a unique, one of a kind medicine within you. Never let anyone convince you that you are anything other than magic” ~Ara
The subject of self worth has been on my mind a lot lately in this soul baring, shadow dancing time that is the Pluto Retrograde. At every turn we are face to face with the rising up of our shadows as the veils we hide behind fall.
Is anything safe? Will we question every part of ourselves during this time? The answer is yes, and a big one we will face is our perceptions of our worth.
During times such as these, we see where we are the beggars in our own lives; where we are accepting scraps when we should be dancing at feasts thrown in our honor. How can it be that we, such bright and amazing beings are so blind when it comes to our own value?
Because we are looking with borrowed vision, using eyes that are not our own to trick our beautiful selves into thinking that we are anything other than miraculous. How can we think to use the measuring stick of another to place value on something so individual and priceless as ourselves?
The truth is, during these times and many times during our lives, we will be subject to being mistreated by others. Yes, they will ignore us, they will treat us like strangers and they will hurt us. Deeply at times. But the reality is, that’s their path if they choose to walk it, not yours.
Some circles speak at length about having no expectations, and then there will be no disappointment in our lives, which I can see the point in to a certain degree but it also opens us up to a very slippery slope of justifying uncaring behaviors. If we have no expectations in relationships, what would the point be? Wouldn’t we just use each other up without thinking?
When coming from a place of our own truth, being filled up by our own sense of self, allowing who we truly are to have voice and connected to ourselves, we are able to have healthy expectations of others.
No, we don’t need them to complete or fulfill us, only we can do that. But that doesn’t mean a place in our world comes without expectation. This exchange of energy is necessary for a reciprocal and healthy relationship. Otherwise it’s back to being a beggar for scraps of whatever random exchange another is willing to toss our way.
We give away our power by blurring the lines of our own deserving and not stepping into the truth that we are worth so much more. It’s part of the playing small disease that we are weaned on, to take a back seat to our own desires and longing, and in the end what we feel we deserve.
Will it always be giving 100% equally? No, of course not, things aren’t always like that. But, the behavior of others would never make you question your own valuable self worth. We would be tapped into ourselves to such an authentic degree that we would have those that resonate with our truth in our world, and there would be no question of intention.
When we set the lines in the sand so to speak on how others treat us, we are setting positive boundaries. We are saying YES to ourselves, to our time and to our own self worth. We are affirming our own value. When we tap into ourselves and our own authenticity, we are tuned into what we are wanting, and in our resonance with ourselves we resonate with what we deserve.
Do we have a choice in how others treat us? Yes. We choose if we stay or if we walk away. We choose if we surround ourselves with those that celebrate us, accept us with open arms and see us for all of our truth. We choose if we dance at our feast or starve with hands our stretched.
You were born worthy of your heart’s desires, your deepest longing and your wildest dreams.
The Universe gave this assignment to you, right there where you are on this very planet right now. Why? Because you are oh so very worthy. Never forget that.
Now get out there and cut a rug at your feast.
