The Typha angustifolia biomass was sampled randomly from a wetland located in Hefei, China (31◦49 59E, 117◦15 54N). After harvest, the biomass was washed several times with deionized water to remove the dust particles, and then dried in an oven at 378 K for 24 h. The dried biomass was crushed by a high-speed rotary cutting mill. The particles with the size in the range of 0.15–0.30 mm (60–100 mesh) were gathered and washed with acetone in a Soxhlet apparatus for 240 min to remove the leachable organics. The residual Typha angustifolia biomass (named original Typha angustifolia biomass, OTAB) was dried at 353 K in an oven for 12 h and stored in desiccators.
