Dear Team,
As you may be aware Exterran is implementing ACCPAC (Service Manager module) into Thailand (offshore, OWS, BKK), this system is used worldwide by Exterran and helps the company to plan, control and implement work and materials.
ACCPAC training has now been completed for off shift Commissioning team and ACCPAC usage for commissioning is being implemented this week – we will review how the system is working and adjust as required.
Next SPM team will be trained on the system and then in early 2017 Operations will be trained.
From what I understand, in the past it has been difficult for offshore teams to control and order materials, this has led to problems with unit availability and reliability – which leads to frustrations and the need to borrow parts.
ACCPAC is a system that allows us to control materials/parts and control how we plan and invoice work to clients, if we use this system correctly we can then track and plan for materials.
So to help us implement this new system there are some things we can do now to help:
· Non used parts: these need to be returned from remote platforms to either onshore or to LQ’s and recorded as being returned – this stops the items being ‘lost’ against a job when they were not used (i.e. we need to accurately track all materials from now on)
· Commissioning completion: Commissioning will now only hand over Oils at end of commissioning job. All other non-used materials will be returned to onshore stock.
· Commissioning PR-001 & PR-002: these will be sent offshore in consigned ‘boxes’ (i.e. when all parts are packed), they should not be opened until commissioning agree. Follow on commissioning PR’s materials will be shipped as items are available (not wait for complete shipment).
As with any new system there will be some concerns and worries from all employees, however we need to look at ACCPAC positively and use it as a tool to help us track work and materials.
If all offshore teams can support and accurately use ACCPAC it will help protect you from any materials issues – however we need to be proactive in getting familiar with the system and reporting any concerns.
We now need to start thinking of how we will move from PM2 across to ACCPAC and use the ACCPAC numbering system.
Once the system is running we just need to update daily the Work Orders and materials which have been used, likewise for any SPM/commissioning work we can plan in advance and have materials ready for use.
ACCPAC is a system similar to Oracle and CVX’s ERP system that you may have used in the past.
Each offshore field will be responsible for working with ACCPAC and controlling their materials (same as now), so the more we prepare for these changes and the better we use the system the less problems we will get for invoicing and budget control.
Any comments please do let me know and lets be positive in using this tool to help us
