There was strong seasonal variation in the daily growth increment of individual anemones, and the pattern was consistent over the three years (Fig. 1). Virtually all body growth occurred during the Austral autumn (March– June), although there was some growth during the summer (December–March), albeit at a substantially reduced rate (Fig.1). On average, no positive growth was achieved during winter and spring periods (June–December).
