Dream World is a large and well-kept amusement park in Patum Thani province, less than an hour’s drive from central Bangkok in moderate traffic. The park is divided into several zones, including Dream World Plaza, Dream Gardens, Fantasy Land and Adventure Land – each with specific groups of rides, attractions and activities. From roller coasters to more sedate rides, Dream World caters to kids of all ages. The park’s main draw is Adventure Land, its largest zone, with a hanging coaster, a river rafting ride through the “Grand Canyon” and Snow Town, an indoor area where children can experience snowfall, go sledding and have a snowball fight. The nature-themed Dream Gardens is great for the younger set; it boasts attractions such as a small railroad system and mini-racing cars. It is also the setting for the weekend parade, a mascot and float-style musical extravaganza. Fantasy Land, which includes Sleeping Beauty’s castle, Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage and a giant’s house, is also geared for young children.
Tips: Plan for at least a half-day excursion, and bring hats and sunscreen (and a change of clothes, if you plan on getting on the water rides). There are plenty of food and drink stalls in the park. To avoid crowds and long lines, visit on a weekday. The park is pram friendly.
