He drove out the batsso that their flying extinguished the lights. In the darkness he emerged and embraced Busba, who cried out in terror. The servants finally re-lit the candles to reveal Inao. At first ihe queen was angry at Inao's great insolence, but Inao tried to argue, saying thet he was deeply in love with Busba; Busba was after all really his, as she had been promised to him since childhood and that her father had no right to give her away like that! It was useless to argue with him and in the end the queen had to promise before the Buddha's image that she would try to help him. It was only then that Inao released Busba and went away.
