Thailand now has a new competitive playing ground and regulatory environment for TV bradcasters. This structural change matters because the free TV terrestrial platform, the mainstream media reaching the masses in Thailand, has been dominated by just six FTA operators over several decades. Since we are now seeing several changes and more complicated level playing field, therefore NBTC neceesarily needs to conduct survey related to television viewers acessability to digital television and radio broadcasting , and viewership behavior throughout Thailand. NBTC will need these data and information to formulate a complete analogue switch off and digital switch on roadmap and Key Performance Indixes (KPIs) for both digital television and radio in Thailand. In order to develop digital switch over and analogue switch off KPIs, we need to understand both television and radio industry value chain comprehensively and AEC Advisory (“the adviser”)’s partner and principal have developed expertise in the industries for more than 10 years. Figure 3a below shows the value chain of television industry and figure 3b shows some relevant KPIs for DTT/DAB based on the value chain.
