After the death of a dog breeder at Bangkok’s weekend market earlier in February, health authorities warn pet owners to be wary of poor quality rabies vaccine which is not efficient in preventing rabies in dogs and cats. The woman, who also worked at the Public Health Ministry, had apparently administered the rabies vaccine to her dog by herself. Authorities are investigating whether the vaccine had expired or was fake.Pets bred from the particular store at the Weekend Market have already been quarantined. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration will also provide 400,000 doses of rabies vaccine to be given free of charge to pets in Bangkok
